  • The Firm

    The Firm – research and development outpost of a large FTSE100 company for whom I worked for 23 years.

    I started writing this when I was looking for a way out of The Firm a decade before NRA, during the global financial crisis of 2008. They employed a bunch of American HR consultants then to harry people using the performance management system to ‘encourage’ them to leave. Although I agree with the staff member who summarised it as a great place to work gone bad I probably projected some personal issues on it. And in hindsight I would have wasted some of my life working for The Firm to 60 – you can’t take it with you and once you have enough then in the words of The Escape Artist

    you still have to change your life.  Don’t just load the gun, pull the trigger.
